Teacher Information
Specific Information for both Private and Public/Private school teachers (see below)
Our view on Catalog/Internet Sales: Although there are a lot of great deals on the Internet (we sometimes shop there ourselves), there are also some real scams out there. We pride ourselves on being knowledgable about what we sell or we'll tell you (or your student) we don't know and refer you to someone who does.
We cannot survive in Alaska by meeting all internet prices because we provide service on a daily basis to our customers. We test out products so we can recommend those that work well in our Alaskan climate. We discount as much as we can and try to keep our prices competitive at all times. We cannot always be the cheapest, but we will always provide customer support.
We do a lot of free repairs and things like free tuning for string instruments, free installation on orchestra strings bought from us, free education for parents new to music, etc.
We support local elementary, middle school and high school music programs, the Anchorage Symphony, Junior Youth Symphony and high school Youth Symphony and teacher associations.
Please keep this in mind when you tell your students to shop the internet or catalogs. We need your continued support in order to be here for you and your students in the future.
Information for local Private Teachers
Public and private school teachers look farther down:
Studios for rent: If you are looking for a place to teach, we have studios available for teachers to rent. Rates start at $4.00 per half hour.
Required Books and supplies: If you will provide us with a list of books and/or other supplies you require (or recommend) for your students, we can stock those for you. If you can give us some idea of quantity you use over a 6 month period, we can usually have on hand what your students require. If Keyboard Cache stocks your books, we can get them for you (they stock us). For something not used regularly, we can call and have it brought out for you.
Referrals: If you would like us to refer students to you, we need to know what instruments you teach, and what level (beg, intermed, adv), and your phone number. If you have some type of business card (you can make a simple one on any computer on just regular paper) that we can hand out, that is preferred. We also have a bulletin board in the store where you can post a flyer.
Public and Private School music program teachers:
Bulk Discounts on supplies: We can offer bulk discounts on recorders and other school accessories for your music program. Most supplies not currently in stock can be available in about 10 days. Please contact us for full details.
Books: If you have a music program and would like us to stock books, please call us and (when possible) give us approximate quantities needed and when you will need them. If it is a book that is stocked by Keyboard Cache in Anchorage, we can get it for you (they stock us). Books not normally stocked by Keyboard Cache (or those they are temporarily out of) can take up to 4 weeks to receive after ordering.
